BETTER THAN EZRA IN THE NEWS
The following links to articles/interviews,
concert reviews, photos/video, and the ubiquitous "other" category have
been collected over the last few months or longer.
Articles/Interviews
Erin Hardy of Loyola's Maroon wrote a very nice article about the
band's DVD release party and more.
Mr. Griffin did an extensive interview with Gibson.com concerning his
guitars, the band, and current projects.
The release of the DVD/CD Was also reported in none other than the
Rolling Stone.
Bunny Matthews of Offbeat Magazine wrote a killer review of the
new BTE Live CD. Just outstanding!
A live version of "Get You In" is going to appear on a benefit album for
Burmese Human Rights campaigner Aung San
Suu Kyi. It's great to see BTE appearing
alongside U2, Coldplay and Pearl Jam (among other notable contributors).
BTE got a write-up in Voxonline.com. It gives a good synopsis of their chart history
as well as their upcoming tour dates.
The new live CD got 3 1/2 stars from Ear Candy Magazine.
Here's another review of the Live CD from goTriad.com. It got 3
stars. If the writer didn't get a feel for the show, maybe he should
check out the DVD? Anyway, still a good rating.
Another very nice review of the Live CD. This is from TheTownTalk.com.
BTE
does some rocking for Presidential Candidate and Senator John Kerry.
These articles are from Rolling Stone and NCbuy.com,
respectively. |

BTE SOUND CLIP SELECTION
As usual, this edition of the Serenade contains
a selection of BTE sound clips.
The site continues to get lots of hits from media search engines such
as
www.singingfish.com.
What's the most listened to clip of all the clips posted to date? Well, it's that old KG story
about his vanquished love for a certain
media figure. If you
can think of a particularly funny sound clip or would like to suggest theme for
sound clips, please contact the Editor at:
ED@streetserenade.com.
"Bringing
Your Parents?" - Kevin decides to invite the crowd to Jazzfest and
offers some advice if you happen to bring along your parents (from
Curly's, Tulsa, OK, March 1, 2002).
"They're Giving Me Gifts!" - Here's what can happen when fans
put their belongings on the stage. Sort of Ezra eminent domain? (from
Curly's, Tulsa, OK, March 1, 2002).
"G Love Does It"" - Jim Payne loses his luggage and may have
to play in flip-flops. Thankfully, suitable footwear arrives just in
time (from House of Blues, Los Angeles, CA, August 9, 2003).
"F*ck You Joggerman!" - Kevin Griffin dishes up one of the
funniest BTE moments ever recorded as heaps verbal abuse on exercise
fanatics (from
the Mardi Gras, New Orleans, LA, March 4, 2000).
"Prom Night" - Two young people get a very special prom night
courtesy of BTE (from
House of Blues, New Orleans, May 6, 2000).
"The Thong Song" - Apparently Travis Aaron McNabb didn't think
too much of Sisqo's big hit! (from the
House of Blues, New Orleans, LA, May 6, 2000).
"Tom Drummond, Bead Coordinator" - We know he plays bass, but Tom
also has other important roles to fulfill (from
Mardi Gras, New Orleans, LA,
March 4, 2000).
"Kevin's Waiting, Talking Italian" - Any one who has seen BTE
will agree that KG's one appearance on Italian TV gave him a complete
command of the language (from
Curly's, Tulsa, OK, March 1, 2002).
BTE IN THE NEWS (CONT'D)
Also on the political front, BTE are going to be playing the opening of
the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, AR on November 17,
2004. From Katv.com.
Here's some cool Closer reviews. I'm sure I've posted them
before, but they are wonderful. So here you go again. They are
from Middle Tennessee State University Sidelines Online,
The Michigan Times, and Lost at Sea Online, respectively.
This short article appeared in the Macon Telegraph before the
recent BTE show at Mercer University.
Alex Rawls wrote this great article on BTE and the Live CD which
appeared in the Gambit Weekly. Great information from the guys
are the current state of all things Ezra, too.
Other Stuff
Here's an interesting review of the song "Teenager." It's amazing the
good content you can find out there on the WWW.
Check your How Does Your Garden Grow? liner notes and you'll find the
name Karl Berger. Find out who he is and what he's currently up to
in this article.
BTE gets a mention in an interview with the founder of Aware Records.
Here's an extensive audio and video interview with Australian Missy
Higgins. Kevin Griffin co-wrote the hit single "Scar" off her platinum
selling debut album. This is from a great Aussie music news service
called Undercover. |
