GRANT AUSTIN TAYLOR Eight year old Grant Austin Taylor of TTOY fame recently headed out to the West Coast to tape a performance for an upcoming episode of the WB's Steve Harvey's Big Time variety show. After Grant's second TTOY performance with BTE (in Atlanta before tens of thousands of people), the family was contacted by the show's producers. Grant and his Dad flew made the trip in October. There's no word yet on when the air date will be, but the SERENADE will keep BTE fans informed.
Grant's mom, Amy, tells the SERENADE that Grant had a great time and the performance went very well. And what song did he play? "Good" by Better than Ezra, of course!
Not only did he perform, but Grant was also interviewed by comedian/actor Steve Harvey. He made sure to mention how important BTE and the band's music have been to him.

UNCLE NANCY DEBUTS NEW WEBSITE, MAKING TOUR PLANS Ezralite CJ and her band Uncle Nancy recently informed the SERENADE that their new website is up and running. It's quite an impressive site that demonstrates CJ's programming skills as well as the band's music. You may recall an interview with CJ and band mate James Lugo from the July edition of this newsletter. What else is going on with the band? Well, Uncle Nancy is climbing the charts at www.garageband.com, and has made it into Round 3 and "Where Are You Today" is ranked at #15 out of about 6,500 songs in the ROCK genre!! Uncle Nancy is also the featured artist of the month (for October) at http://www.mp3songs.org.uk. A new full-length CD will also be available by the end of the year. The band is recording with a new guitarist who moved all the way from Austin, Texas to California just to join the band. The band has replaced their former drummer who bore a resemblance to Tom Drummond of BTE. Their new drummer looks like John Travolta! As for touring, the band is playing selected dates in California. However, they are looking at a possible East Coast tour, starting in New York on New Years Eve. Hope you make it to New York, CJ. GRANT AUSTIN TAYLOR (CONT'D) Grant's also getting quite a lot of attention in his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia. According to his Amy, he's playing gigs almost every weekend. In late September he also appeared at the annual Bay Days Festival. His set included BTE favorites ("Good," "Misunderstood"), other classic tunes (including Tom Petty's "Free Falling"), and an original composition. Way to go Grant!
