BETTER THAN EZRA IN THE NEWS
The following links to articles/interviews,
concert reviews, photos/video, and the ubiquitous "other"
category have been collected over the last six months or so. Later
editions of the SERENADE will feature more current links:
Articles/Interviews
Clear Channel radio did an audio interview that appeared on many of
their stations web sites around the country. Here’s a cached link in
case they take it down too quick. FYI, the audio files are in Windows
Media format. If you need mp3, ask.
Jason Gaddis wrote a wonderful article on BTE in the December 5, 2002
edition of the Indiana Daily Student. Outstanding work Jason!
BTE also got a thank you from WTTS FM for doing the show in Bloomington,
Indiana. FYI, the photo link does not work.
Online Athens (Georgia) had a cool article on BTE in their November 7,
2002 edition. They always have good article on the lads when they come
to town.
BTE was featured in the November 2002 issue of "Harder Beat"
Magazine.
An article on BTE appeared in the Las Vegas Weekly when the boys hit
town in October 2002.

September 2002. Way to go Travis (and Travis!).
Concert Reviews
On February 8, 2003 BTE played the a private show for the Drury
University (Springfield, MO) homecoming. BTE apparently rocked the
mosque!

December 15, 2002.
Don Brown, Sr. shares a cool review of the October 3, 2002 BTE/Cowboy Mouth
show at the Las Vegas House of Blues. A couple of cool photos of KG and
Fred LeBlanc. Nicely done sir!
Photos/Video
3 Cats Photo – official photographer of the Trek/VW racing team
(whatever that is) – was kind enough to put some really good BTE-CM
photos on their website.
Chicago House of Blues, December 6, 2002
Denver Bluebird Theatre, October 15, 2002
The Harley Davidson website has some photo and video highlights from the
October 26, 2002 Harley Davidson 100th Anniversary "Open
Road Tour." You might spot BTE in there somewhere.
Here’s some cool pics from the October 24, 2002 BTE at Louisiana Tech in

SOUND CLIP SELECTION
Each issue the SERENADE will include
several classic BTE sound clips that illustrate the humorous stage
banter and other antics of the band's live performances. Here's
this edition's diverse selection: "The
Lean Years" - Kevin Griffin of BTE reminisces about the humble
origins of the band and some memorable road-trips (from Bonne Fete
2001).
"BTE Weather Update" - Here
Kevin discusses the almost "biblical" predictions of Baton
rouge weather forecasters (from Bonne Fete 2001).
"Axl Rose" - Demonstrating his
talent for imitations, Kevin Griffin astounds the audience with Axl Rose
doing Bruce Springsteen doing BTE (from Christmas 1999).
"The Map of Ezra" - A classic
BTE shout out and there's plenty for to come in future editions! (from
St. Cloud University 2002).
"James Arthur, Bastard Love
Child" - Kevin reveals Jim Payne's dark family secrets (from New
Year's 1999).

BETTER THAN EZRA IN THE NEWS (CONTD)
Emmett over at Tulsa Rock ‘n’ Roll has some great photos on his site
from the April and October BTE shows at Curly’s. Here’s the link for
the October 19, 2002 show pics.
Concertshots.com has some pretty nice photos online from the "On
the Bricks" show in Atlanta
on August 2, 2002 which featured BTE, Cracker and Avril Lavigne. Check
out that picture of Travis mid-flail.
This ultra cool person has put together some videos for
"Particle"
and "Live Again" .
I’m not sure how old this is, but here’s some streaming video (Real
Video format) of KG performing Good with a band called Brian Kirk
and the Jirks.
And unless you’ve seen it already, check out the "Adventures of
Pauly Firesign" page to see how one of the few Australian Ezralites
came all the way from Oz to New Orleans and Atlanta to appear on stage
with his favorite band, Better Than Ezra. Pauly, you are da man (down
under)!
Other
This columnist wrote an article in the Hampton Roads Daily Press
talking about naming rock bands with the help of a book of mushroom
names. He cites BTE as a band with a cool name that begs several
important questions.
I have no idea why, but BTE’s name is mentioned in this December 2000
spoof on Carmen San Diego getting the death penalty courtesy of then
Governor Bush of Texas – what’s up with that? It’s pretty funny
anyway. Rockapella singing BTE covers at the funeral?
Check out this page for some High School era photos of none other than
Travis Aaron McNabb!
