RADIO EZRA, PART DEUX.
by EnglishDave

How often do you get to hear BTE on the radio? Not often enough, I bet. And then it’s probably only one of the major hits like "Good" or "Desperately Wanting." Well, thanks to an enterprising Ezralite and college DJ, fans were recently treated to a jam-packed two-hour radio show of classic BTE tunes from 12 midnight-2am on Saturday May 1, 2004.

Brendan "Beej" McNulty is Program Director/DJ for 106-VIC, at Ithaca College in upstate New York. He’s also a longtime Ezralite. Luckily, the station streams over the internet during the school year which allowed fans worldwide to listen in to the show. This was actually the second time Brendan has done an all BTE show, but this time he was able to get the word out more in advance which resulted in a large number of Ezralite listeners.

The show included no less than 30 BTE songs, many of which you will probably never hear on commercial radio (see playlist below). In between songs, Brendan offered commentary on BTE songs and albums. He was also kind enough to entertain fan special requests for particular songs (and shoutouts) received by both phone and instant messaging.

Thanks for a great night of radio, Beej. When can we do it again?

BTE FAN PHOTO SELECTED FOR USATODAY.COM
by Staff

One of the reasons the Serenade was started was to showcase the many great fan photos that sadly never saw the light of day. Well, recently a fan photo was so good (uh-huh) that it also found its way onto the USATODAY.com website.

Erin's Submission to USATODAY.com
(Photo: Erin)

How did this happen? USATODAY "Pop Candy" columnist (and closet BTE fan) Whitney Matheson asked readers to send in photos of any recent art projects. With a little bit of prompting, Massachusetts Ezralite Erin submitted a photo of Kevin Griffin’s trademark kick taken at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club taken on March 5th, 2004.

This particular photo was one of 7 reader submitted projects selected to appear on the website.

Way to go Erin!!
