FAN PROFILE: Matthew Beere.
This month’s fan profile features Matt Beere. Matt is not only a
hard-working college student and BTE fan, but in his free time he runs
the official Stone Temple
Pilots website.
Each fan profile has some basic information
about the person and follow-up questions about their BTE fandom.
Matt and Carrie. Name: Matt
Location: Manassas, VA.
Age: 21
Occupation: Webmaster/Student
Favorite CD: BTE - Deluxe; STP - Purple.
Favorite Song: BTE - At the Stars.
BTE Shows: 5 (6/22/02, 8/24/02, 3/17/03, 5/29/03, 8/23/03).
How and when did you become a BTE fan?
Carrie (my girlfriend now) convinced me to go to the free show in
Washington DC in 2002. I knew the radio hits, but never thought about
seeing them live. After seeing that show and how much fun they had on
stage and how great the songs were, I went and picked up all the CDs.
I've been hooked since. |

Where was your most memorable live show, and why was it so good
(uh-huh)?
Probably August 24, 2002 in VA Beach. It was for the East Coast
Surfing Championships and the stage was literally on the beach. It was
really cool just watching a great rock show. It was on the beach, I
didn't have to wear shoes and the waves were crashing in the background.
What's the best live BTE song? And your favorite cover?
I really enjoy hearing "At the Stars" and "EO." Favorite cover would
be Madonna’s "Don’t Tell Me."
Are you a bootleg collector? What's your favorite?
Well, I have one show and that is from Minneapolis 2002. So it is my
favorite!
Which BTE opening band would you recommend and why?
Out of the few bands that I've seen, I'd recommend
Gavin DeGraw. He was the
first opening act that I had seen in a long time that actually caught my
attention.
Been on any outrageous road trips?
Not yet, I would love to road trip to NOLA though.
Do you hang with other Ezralites?
I've yet to meet any Ezralites. One day.
What other bands do you really like?
Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Dave Matthews Band,
Aerosmith, Simon & Garfunkel, Elton John, Coldplay, etc.
Anything else you'd like to share with your fellow ezralites?
Yes, I run the official website for
Stone Temple Pilots.
I have done so for three years now. I've had a chance to tour with them
and photograph every show I've been to. I've seen them 48 times! I also
love music in general. I go to a lot of concerts and really enjoy live
shows.
