And as much as we all love our bootlegs, won't it be a trip to have a real professionally mixed live CD to put in your home or car stereo?  Yes, it will.  The live CD also sports a lengthy setlist slightly different from the DVD.

You may recall that the DVD Taping shows were August 1st and 2nd of 2003 at the House of Blues on Decatur Street. As is usual with all serious BTE events, like the annual Christmas shows, fans came in from all over the country to get in on the action.

One fan, Serenade columnist Paul Galagher, came all the way from his native Australia!  He was also able to provide our readers with a sneak peek at the DVD setup (see right).

An added bonus of the live CD is the two new studio tracks on the disc.  To our knowledge, no fans have ever heard either of these tracks -- "Cold Year" and "Stall" -- played live.  It is also unclear during sessions for which album they were recorded.

As if the DVD and live CD were not enough, fans can also look forward to early December when a "Greatest Hits" compilation will be released by Warner.  Fortunately, it's apparently standard industry practice to release new material along with such projects, so it will be probably be a very Merry Christmas indeed!

Finally, let's not forget the new album due early in 2005.  Old and new favorites "Hollow," "Special," "Simple Song," and "Daylight" are not represented on the DVD or Live CD, so there's a good we'll get to hear studio versions on the new CD.  According to the rumor mill, a new single may be hitting the airwaves as early as January!
