FROM WASHOUT TO WONDERLAND:
JERSEY SHOW SAVES THE DAY (CONT'D)

At this junction, KG started to play a little of the GoGos "Our Lips Are Sealed." He then started musing about how Axl Rose could revive his career with an album of covers. First up, he said, should be a cover of Lionel Ritchie’s "Easy." And anyone with further suggestions should email him. He said he’s putting together a proposal to deliver to Axl personally.

Kicking things back up, next came "Sincerely Me." Tom and Travis began with their "drum huddle" (sans Jim) and proceeded to rock to the nth degree. This number gave way to "Desperately Wanting." The boys were totally rocking and positively on fire. They delivered a spirited version of the song, replete with a KG kick and a bold salute to the crowd as the band exited the stage.

As the crowd chanted madly, KG poked his head out of the doorway and pretended to signal the guys to follow him down the stairs, back to the stage. They took their sweet time doing this as if to tweak KG a bit. Donning his acoustic guitar, KG launched into "Recognize" with the high note beginning. Nicely done fellas!

As the band did a free-style classic rock medley, they honed in on RUSH and Travis took things away with a full-blown (and plausible) Neal Pert imitation. This interlude gave way to the show closer, a rousing version of "Rosealia" that seemed a harder song without the contributions of Mr. Jim Payne.  And, for good measure, KG added-in a "Croc Hunter" impression to describe Tom's bass solo.

The weekend may have been a bit of a washout, but good friends and a very hard rocking BTE show had made all our blues disappear by the end of the night.  After the show, the guys graciously stuck around to chat with fans, sign autographs etc. with fans before heading off into the night for an early flight home.
