BETTER THAN EZRA IN THE NEWS
The following links to articles/interviews,
concert reviews, photos/video, and the ubiquitous "other" category have
been collected over the last few months or longer.
Articles/Interviews
This article/interview is from the McComb, MS. Enterprise-Journal.
Mr. Drummond shares a bit about his personal life and BTE's plans recent
history and plans for the future.
The good people at Alternative Addiction always keep on top of
BTE developments. This article talks about the first single off
the forthcoming CD Before the Robots which is "A Lifetime." They
even link to a streaming version of the tune.
Here Alternative Addiction shows the track list for the
forthcoming Greatest Hits CD.
Yet another Alternative Addiction article reveals the Before
the Robots track list and background information on the project.
Somebody was kind enough to stop by the BTE message board and provide
this link to BTE performing "Jumping Jack Flash" with Charlie Pace of
TV's Lost.
Here's a blast from the not-so-distant past. It's the transcript of
Travis Aaron McNabb's 1999 Promark In Session live chat session.
Concert Reviews Etc.
Here's a couple of crackerjack reviews of the December 2004 show at
Washington DC's 9:30 Club. They are from, respectively, the George
Washington University's Daily Colonial and Fredericksburg.com.
The True Experience was an acoustic show featuring Kevin Griffin
and Fred LeBlanc of Cowboy Mouth held on the Cajun Queen riverboat in
October, 2004. Check out the pics.
This excellent review of the 12-17-2004 BTE Christmas show by Robin
Shannon first appeared in Offbeat Magazine.
Here's a short review from Shake Magazine of an August 2004 BTE
performance at Nashville's Uptown Mix. The reviewer notes how
Kevin Griffin looks like a TV actor. |

BTE SOUND CLIP SELECTION
As usual, this edition of the Serenade contains
a selection of BTE sound clips. This edition brings you clips from
two recent shows -- New York City (12/07/2004) and Baton Rouge
(09/23/2004).
New York City featured quite a to do about a fan who
ventured onstage allegedly for a cowbell effort, but actually decided to
represent, for the Boston Red Sox! You can hear the crowd reaction
for yourselves. Baton Rouge had the typical college crowd
and the guys were in fine spirits, as you can tell from the many
clips this show produced. If you
can think of a particularly funny sound clip or would like to suggest theme for
sound clips, please contact the Editor at:
ed@streetserenade.com.
"Reeejeeeected!" - That's what happens when you try and pull a fast
one on BTE and New York City fans? (from
Irving Plaza, New York City,
NY, December 7, 2004).
"One
for the Record Books" - Tom tries to segue into a 'song for the
ladies' but KG has a few more things to say (from
Irving Plaza, New York City, NY, December 7, 2004).
"It's a Conspiracy" - And of course, Mike Keel is
also wearing his favorite Red Sox garb. But you know he's always cool
about it (from
Irving Plaza, New York City, NY, December 7, 2004).
"Hey Wild Man!" - KG has to have a little word with an
inebriated concertgoer during "Misunderstood" (from
Varsity Theatre, Baton Rouge, LA, September 23, 2004).
"Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!" - Kevin continues to make fun of the
drunken student (from
the Varsity Theatre, Baton Rouge, LA, September 23, 2004).
"Football Follies" - While he's trying to sing Supertramp's
"Goodbye Stranger," Mr. Griffin mind turns to the important subject of
football, LSU's prospects therein, and more! (from
Varsity Theatre, Baton Rouge, LA, September 23, 2004).
"Jim Payne's Buff What?" - Kevin tells the crowd Jim Payne's
been working out and he's got a buff something or other (from Varsity
Theatre, Baton Rouge, LA, September 23, 2004).
"Travis LLC" - He's just a mere mortal, he's a fully-fledged
drumming corporate entity! (from Varsity Theatre, Baton Rouge, LA,
September 23, 2004).
"The Surreal Life" - Before concluding the show, Kevin feels
compelled to comment on the cast members of the Surreal Life (from
Varsity Theatre, Baton Rouge, LA, September 23, 2004).
Other Stuff
Here's something you don't see every day. An interview with the
normally very reserved drummer Jordan elder from the Graham Colton Band.
The interview is from tunedinmusic.com.
Did you know Boston Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo has his own band? And
that he covers BTE? Well, the Avalon Ballroom is right behind the
Green Monster (from TownOnline.com). Makes sense, right?
This interview with the Owner of Jannus Landing appeared on
TampaBay.com. The interviewee mentions BTE and other bands
hanging out at the Tamiami Bar after the show.
BTE's "I Do" got a cool mention at the end of this article on itunes
by a columnist Lindsay McCook from University of Virginia's Cavalier
Daily. |
